The Dynatones Vinyl Record Albums Formed in San Francisco, California, USA, in the early 80s, the Dynatones made a strong local impression especially when backing blues harpist Charlie Musselwhite. Later blending R&B into their blues-based repertoire, the band continued to attract northern Californian audiences through the 90s and into the early 00s. Among musicians who have played in the band at one time or another are Jackie Payne and Marcus Scott (vocals), Jimmy Pugh (keyboards), Walter Shuffelsworth (drums), Randy McDonald and Bill Singletary (bass), Tommy Castro (San Jose, California, USA) and Steve Edmonson (guitar), Mike Rose (trumpet), Mike Rinta (trombone), and Eric Bertraud (tenor saxophone). Playing an aggressively rhythmic repertoire, much of which is written by band members, the Dynatones’ albums can only hint at the band’s live presence.
