Sunday's Child Vinyl Record Albums A talented teenage group that formed in Los Angeles, CA, the members were Ilene Anderson, Mary Lou Anderson, and the incredible Renee "Ren" Woods. The sky was the limit for this promising group which began as the Soul Five, inspired by the Jackson 5. Two members dropped and the remaining members switched to Sunday's Child. Sammy Davis Jr. took them under his wing and was partly responsible for securing them a deal with Reprise Records, where they recorded their only album, Sunday's Child in 1970. None of the singles from the LP hit, and the album itself, despite being spirited and heartfelt, went virtually unnoticed, and Sunday's Child disbanded without fanfare. Their most memorable gig was an appearance with Sammy Davis Jr. at Carnegie Hall in New York, NY. Woods became a successful and prolific character and sometimes a featured actress in movies and television and also on live stage. |
