Patsy Cline Audio CD's & Vinyl Record Albums Virginia Patterson Hensley: Born on September 8, 1932 and died on March 5, 1963. She began recording in the mid-'50s, but wasn't very successful. But 'Walking after Midnight' put her in the spotlight, in the Country charts as well as in the Pop charts. The following singles tightened her position on the top. Hits were penned by Willie Nelson (Crazy), Eddie Miller and W.S. Stevenson (Three Cigarettes In An Ashtray) and Hank Cochran (I Fall To Pieces]. The influence of producer Owen Bradley was huge. On top of her fame, she was killed in an airplane crash in 1963. Years later her distinctive voice and interpretation was recognized by many and was of great influence of later singers, like Brenda Lee, Linda Ronstadt and k.d. lang, amongst others.
