Brother of Billy Butler. Well known as member of The Impressions. His career is really huge, starting in 1958. Long time associate of Curtis Mayfield. Has co-written Otis Redding's "I've Been Loving You Too Long". Has duetted with Betty Everett, Brenda Lee Eager, Thelma Houston and Gene Chandler. Has collaborated with Exuma and Jerry Peters for the blaxploitation soundtracks, "Jerry Butler And Exuma - Joe Original Soundtrack" and "Jerry Butler And Jerry Peters - Melinda (Original Music From The Motion Picture)". He's also an American politician. He serves as Commissioner for Cook County, Illinois, having first been elected in 1985.
