James William Anderson III (born November 1, 1937 in Columbia, South Carolina) is an American country music singer and songwriter. In 1975, Bill Anderson was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. In 2001, he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
